Under the guidance of Belt and Road Initiative and other national policies, Shenzhen Energy Group is vigorously developing overseas business and expanding into global market, in order to create new advantages for state-owned enterprises to go global.
In Africa, Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Plant Phase I, with an installed capacity of 200 MW, was put into operation in December 2010, accounting for 15% of the total electricity supply in Ghana, which has effectively mitigated the electricity shortage in Ghana. The Phase II Project, with an installed capacity of 2x180 MW, came into service in February 2017, which has explored a useful way for China’s electric power enterprises to open international market.
Shenzhen Energy Papua New Guinea Ramu Hydropower Project Phase II held commen-cement ceremony in March 2017 and is planned to be put into operation in 2022. The total investment is estimated at 870 million USD, and the total installed capacity is 180 MW, accounting for 36% of the total installed capacity of Papua New Guinea.
